Eight laps of Australasia's largest lake
An ‘out and back’ race, will have only solo and two-person relay team categories. The Race starts in Bogmalo, Goa heads south along the Coast road, heading inland from Honavar towards Jog Falls. Rolling terrain soon turns into a steady climb up the Western Ghats to turn around just above the Falls and return the same way. Route – A 56 hour race that is a RAAM Qualifier for solo and has 2, 3 or 4 person team categories. The Race follows the same route at the 500 till Jog Falls. From there it continues around the edge of Wildlife sanctuaries, climbing steadily towards Chikmaglur. Still in the forest and spice plantation covered hills, the route heads south till it touches the Mangalore-Bangalore highway and turns to descend towards the coast again. There instead of heading back, the route continues south along the Western ghats, rolling through spectacular coffee and spice plantations of Coorg. From there it descends down from the Sahyadris to Iritty in Kerala before heading up to Wayanad. The Natchez Trace 444, often referred to as simply “The 444”, runs the length of the Natchez Trace Parkway from Nashville, Tennessee to Natchez, Mississippi. The Natchez Trace National Park is 444 miles long and is known as the narrowest National Park in the US. It runs the entire length of the Natchez Trace Parkway. During The 444 riders will encounter: beautiful scenery, great pavement, armadillos, wild turkeys, white tail deer, possibly a javalina, changing fall foliage + no stop signs, no traffic lights and no turns. The 444 is the only RAAM qualifier that is not a race.
The route leaves Kokernot Park and heads to Study Butte. Then it heads to Big Bend National Park taking in both the Ross Maxwell Scenic road and the Chisos Basin Climb. The route exits the park toward Marathon before heading back to Alpine.
